Welcome to the College of Charleston School of Business bi-lateral Brazil study program. The Universidade Do Sul De Santa Catarina, Florianopolis offers students the opportunity to study abroad for either the fall or spring semester.

[07/05/11]   Studio apartments with furnture and wifi rent for about $200 per month close to the Federal University in Florianopolis. No need for a car as the bus routes are extensive and reliable.

[06/30/11]   The School of Business has one student attending UNISUL this summer and fall. He has just arrived and says it is 50 degrees. Hope to see some postings soon!

[03/29/11]   Visit the SB table at the World Cultures Fair Wednesday, March 30th 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Carolina Arena. Global Scholars information will be available. The event will have entertainment, food and booths from many different cultures.

[03/11/11]   July is the coldest month in Florianoplis about 12.4 C. (54 degrees) Often May-August there can be a short summer ie: occurrence of a succession of hot days after the first days of the April winter.

[02/25/11]   Get a head start on your portuguese langauage. UNISUL offers an intensive langauage course July 4th-August 4th before the semester begins. There is an extra fee for this but is reduced 50% for CofC students. What a great way to start your semester abroad and you get to spend more time in Brazil.

[01/27/11]   The plastic card on the table is how you pay for your meal. All charges are put on to the card and then you pay the cashier. 10% tip is put on the bill and then they ask if you would like to add more. This does not apply in a fast food restaurant.

Lunch time in Brazil, calzone and a drink 4.75 RS that is about $2.80. Student funds go a long way in Brazil. The food is good!

Classes at UNSUL as all colleges in Brazil are 8:00 - 11:15 a.m. and 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. This allows students to be able to work in the afternoons and most do!
