Continuing the Story: Teal Connections

The Coastal Carolina University Black Alumni Chapter is proud to highlight Dr. Shirice Lesane, a distinguished member of the Coastal Carolina University Class of 2014, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology.

Dr. Lesane’s journey is a powerful testament to the impact of lifelong learning, perseverance, and purpose. After graduating from Coastal Carolina University, she continued her academic pursuits by earning a Master of Science in Physiology and Poultry Science from North Carolina State University. She then earned her Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from St. George’s University, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to advancing her knowledge and serving others through medicine.

Today, Dr. Lesane continues to make an extraordinary impact as an educator, professor, physician, researcher, mentor, and published author. Even while publishing research, teaching, pursuing a Master of Public Health (MPH), and mentoring future healthcare professionals, she is also taking the next step in her journey by applying for medical residency. Her dedication to continuous growth reflects a remarkable commitment to both personal excellence and the advancement of healthcare.

Dr. Lesane’s story embodies the spirit of Coastal Carolina University, leading with integrity, pursuing excellence, and using education as a catalyst for positive change. She reminds us that success is not defined by a single achievement, but by the lives we impact and the legacy we continue.
