Undergraduate students are actively engaged with creative and scholarly activities in all areas of the Art Department. Art Education students have numerous pre-teaching experiences in a variety of K-12 settings. Art History students have presented research at national conferences and assisted in the curating of exhibitions. Graphic Design students are fully immersed in the design, research, and te
chnology resulting in outcomes of both traditional print and interactive electronic media projects. Students in the Studio Art areas are engaged in studio practices that lead to the development of artworks reflecting mastery of technique and creativity of the artist. The Department of Art encourages students to consider doing study abroad, whether it might be a summer or semester long program. In the past few years, students have studied abroad in England, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Australia, and New Zealand. Students in the Art Education option have completed student teaching in Ireland and New Zealand. The earlier you begin to plan, then the more likely you are to find a study aboard program that will accommodate your area of study in the Art Department.
