It is with heavy but happy heart that I am sharing our hens with a farm on Johns Island. Thank you everyone for your support and interest over the last 2 years. Our little boy’s college fund certainly has a nice start. It has been a joy to take him out to feed the girls and look for eggs, first in his baby carrier and then in his very first rainboots. Watching him run with them and seeing him sometimes catch Gladys has been a joy. The girls will be soon be chased by 4 grandchildren, hopefully on a regular basis so they will be ready for swimsuit season here in Charleston. I will be closing the page shortly, first wanted to say thank you for your interest and support. All our best, Halo Farm

Halo Farm
We started backyard chicken farming when we found out we were expecting our son. We want our child to have all the benefits of fresh eggs and experience the responsibility of farming, even on a small scale. Compared to many store bought eggs, our eggs are lower in fat and cholesterol and higher in vitamins and minerals from the natural diet we provide. Our chickens are raised as family pets, and receive treats and attention often. The girls have begun producing enough to share. We hope you enjoy our eggs and the rainbow of colors we are able to package in each carton. All proceeds from egg sales go to our son’s college fund. Thank you for your support!

Meet Our Flock!
Chicken and Waffles are 10 months old and are in love with the Charleston climate. Originally from Ohio, the pair can be found sipping sweet tea by the pool and practicing saying “Hey y’all!”

I can't keep Stella II off of Facebook! She's been messaging the other chickens in the coop and I think I hear a few pecks at the back door. It could be a long night if I have to teach these chickens how to take selfies!

A great photo-op to introduce Stella. She is definitely the mother hen, always squawking to keep her flock in line. Stella sounds like she is invoking our former president: "baarrraaaaaaaaaack!"

Take a tour of the condo our chicks lived in! The chicks shown are the first group when they were just a few days old.

This White Leghorn came to us in our third round of chicks. At that point, the names started getting silly. "Not Gladys" got her name by being a doppelgänger to Gladys. She is the most stylish of the hens as she chooses to wear her comb parted on a different side each day.
