Bee Brave. Bee Kind. Bee You.
Stiles Point is excited to welcome local author Craig Conover to our school this October to share his new children’s book, Patch Work: Bee Brave. Bee Kind. Bee You., with our students.
Through Mr. Conover’s own childhood story, Patch Work shares an important message about embracing what makes each of us different and using kindness, courage, and empathy to make a difference in the lives of others.
Mr. Conover will read Patch Work and then join Dr. Chad Rose, bullying-prevention scholar at the University of South Carolina, and our students for an interactive conversation about what it means to:
Bee Brave — Find the courage to speak up and ask for help.
Bee Kind — Notice others, include them, and lead with kindness.
Bee You — Be proud of what makes you different and stay true to yourself.
As we recognize Bullying Prevention Month in October, we are especially excited to bring our entire school community together around this message. Our hope is that students walk away understanding that our differences are something to celebrate and that even small acts of kindness, inclusion, and courage can have a meaningful impact.
See the flyer below to pre-order a copy of Patch Work.
And there’s a little extra fun involved! The class with the highest percentage of pre-orders will receive a special classroom visit from Mr. Conover and Dr. Chad Rose.
We can’t wait to share this special experience with our students and come together as a school community to Bee Brave. Bee Kind. Bee You. 🐝
