At the College Sage, we encourage students to look beyond rankings and ask a more meaningful question: “Where will I be challenged academically, supported personally, and inspired to grow?” Georgetown University is one of the institutions that consistently stands out.
Academically, Georgetown offers an exceptional blend of rigor and relevance. Its location in Washington, D.C. gives students direct access to internships and research opportunities in government, business, healthcare, and international affairs. The Walsh School of Foreign Service is especially renowned, attracting students interested in diplomacy and global leadership. Across all majors, Georgetown emphasizes critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and a global perspective.
College life at Georgetown is equally compelling. The university’s Jesuit tradition promotes cura personalis, or “care for the whole person,” creating a community that values both intellectual achievement and personal development. Students describe the campus as collaborative, diverse, and service-oriented. Located in the historic Georgetown neighborhood, students enjoy a vibrant setting filled with restaurants, shops, and easy access to the cultural opportunities of the nation’s capital.
Athletics are another source of pride. The Georgetown Hoyas compete in the Big East Conference, and the men’s basketball program remains one of the most storied in college sports, producing legends such as Patrick Ewing.
For students seeking outstanding academics, a dynamic campus community, and spirited athletics, Georgetown University offers an extraordinary college experience. For help maximizing your chances for admissions contact thecollegesage.com now!

College admissions can feel overwhelming, but for the graduating Class of 2026, support came in a powerful form: College Sage’s pro bono counseling program. This year, dedicated counselors Sue Woods and Cindy Smithy worked one-on-one with 76 seniors across six schools, including Burke, St. Johns, Early College High School, R.B. Stall, North Charleston High School, and James Island Charter High School.
Through 244 hours of direct engagement, students received personalized guidance on applications, essays, and postsecondary planning. The impact is clear in their outcomes—students earned acceptances to a wide range of institutions, from Trident Technical College to Yale University.
This effort was strengthened by partnerships with organizations like Communities in Schools SC, Coastal Community Foundation, Raise Up, Doors to Dream, and Kids On Point. Together, they created a network of opportunity and support.
College Sage’s work demonstrates how targeted, compassionate advising can open doors and help students confidently take their next steps.

Did you know this is The College Sage’s first visit to Arkansas! So excited to see the University of Arkansas which offers a great blend of strong academics, vibrant campus life, and a distinctly spirited culture. Located in Fayetteville (about 30 minutes south of Bentonville which offers 27 direct flights), the university attracts students seeking both intellectual rigor and a highly social, community-oriented experience. Greek life plays a central role in campus culture—most notably, Chi Omega was founded here, underscoring the institution’s historic influence on national sorority life.
Academically, Arkansas stands out for several specialized programs. The Sam M. Walton College of Business is nationally recognized, particularly in supply chain management, reflecting the university’s close ties to major corporations like Walmart. The Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design is another highlight, known for its design-forward, interdisciplinary approach. Additionally, programs in agriculture, environmental science, and engineering benefit from the state’s natural resources and industry connections.
Athletically, the Razorbacks compete in the SEC, bringing a high-energy sports culture that unifies the campus. Game days are a major draw, blending tradition and school pride in a way few universities match.
All of this culminates in one of college sports’ most iconic traditions—the unmistakable “Wooo! Pig! Sooie!” chant that echoes across campus and beyond. We loved our great tour and would love to expand your familiarity with this SEC gem. Contact thecollegesage.com now to learn more!

Rhodes College is one of the South’s most distinctive gems, perfectly blending the intimacy of a premier liberal arts college with the energy of Memphis. The first thing we noticed is the campus’s breathtaking Collegiate Gothic architecture. Often cited among the most beautiful in the country, the campus feels like a serene, stone-clad sanctuary. However, its beauty is matched by its academic rigor. Rhodes is one of the few liberal arts colleges that utilizes a major metropolitan area as a living classroom. Through the Rhodes Edge, students gain unparalleled access to internships and research at world-class institutions like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and FedEx. Academically, the college is known for its high-touch faculty mentorship and a curriculum that emphasizes critical thinking and service. What makes Rhodes particularly attractive to high-achieving students is its generous merit scholarship program. We appreciated meeting Ms. Johnson in the admissions office today to better understand how Rhodes selects and recruits talent with awards like the Bellingrath and Morse scholarships, often covering full tuition for top candidates. If you have a 3.75 GPA or better and a stellar application, you might qualify. But do know that the essay is one of their most important application components so contact thecollegesage.com now! For the student seeking a “best of both worlds” experience—a picturesque, scholarly environment paired with robust career outcomes—Rhodes is a top-tier contender.

Our next cross country roadtrip stop is the University of Mississippi which offered a compelling blend of history, culture, and student life—most powerfully experienced through the James Meredith Statue and the The Grove.
The James Meredith statue provides a meaningful starting point for understanding the university’s evolution. As the first African American student admitted in 1962, James Meredith represents a pivotal moment in both institutional and national history. The statue, often surrounded by students and campus tours, serves not only as a tribute but as an active educational touchpoint—prompting reflection on resilience, progress, and the university’s ongoing commitment to inclusivity.
In contrast, The Grove offers a vibrant snapshot of present-day campus life. Widely regarded as the heart of Ole Miss, this expansive green space is where traditions come alive—especially on football weekends. Even on a quiet weekday like today, it reflects a strong sense of community, with students gathering to study, socialize, and connect. The balance between reverence for history and a lively, engaged student culture is palpable.
Ole Miss presents a distinctive environment where tradition and transformation coexist—an appealing setting for students seeking both a strong sense of identity and an evolving campus narrative. Contact thecollegesage.com to learn if Ole Miss is right for you.

Our cross country roadtrip continues! This campus visit has been a long time in the making but we did it all! We were overwhelmed with Southern hospitality while we toured everything from the engineering center to the stunning business building and the brand new college of education. We even tried the barbecue special and hitched a ride on the shuttle bus. Everywhere we went, we were surrounded by smiles, warmth, and a true community spirit. One of the prettiest campuses we have visited, there’s a reason everyone loves their time at Auburn. Admissions to Auburn continues to be more and more selective.
