I graduated from The University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s in Food and Nutrition. I enjoy running, traveling, and spending time with my husband, 2 children, and our french bulldog “Cash”

As a local of Charleston, I chose MUSC due to the vast diversity of clinical experiences offered in a hospital system that is renowned for its education, research, and evidenced-based practice.

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧?
The cuisine and the history. I love walking the cobblestone streets and seeing the charming architecture and historical landmarks!

𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐧!
Hey! I am a clinical adult intern from New Glarus, WI! I graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Stout with my Bachelor’s in Dietetics. I LOVE cooking and baking, traveling, gardening, animals (especially dogs and horses) and spending time on my family’s 108-year-old farm ❤️

𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝?
I love Swiss/German cuisine! New Glarus, WI is known as America’s Little Switzerland and is bursting with dishes influenced by European culture. Wienerschnitzel (thin, breaded, pan-fried veal), Kalberwurst (Swiss veal sausage) and sauerkraut are a few of my favorites!

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐂?
I chose MUSC because of the variety of rotations and learning experiences I would receive in the field of dietetics. I was also excited to live somewhere warm for the winter ☀️

Lauren and Elizabeth both just finished their foodservice rotation at MUSC. They got to work in retail around campus and with the kitchen to learn about what being a Food Service Manager is like. They also got to help out with Pasta Day in Corner Cafe at the hospital!

Some Highlights from SCAND on April 1st:

All of our Interns go to experience their first SCAND today, hearing from RD's from all over the state. They loved getting to go the booths and network.

Our Clinical Adult intern Mackenzie received the Outstanding Dietetics Student Award from SCAND. We are so proud to have her represent the MUSC Dietetic Internship within the state, and we look forward to watching her flourish as she moves forward in her dietetics career!

Today in honor of National Nutrition Month, MUSC Dietetic Interns hosted a Mission of Hope meal packing event, where we packed 40,000 meals for children in Haiti! These efforts supported this year's NNM theme of "Celebrate a World of Flavors” where we aimed to raise awareness of NNM, cultural food practices, and the need for quality nutrition worldwide.

We are so grateful for all the donations, prayers, and helping hands in this project! We had around 160 volunteers and were able to pack in about 2 hours!!

I am an adult clinical intern from Lincoln, Nebraska! I received my B.S. in Nutrition from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. I love podcasts, going on walks , and baking when I have free time!

My favorite food would definitely be tacos - I will never turn them down!

I chose MUSC for the unique and diverse opportunities available at a teaching hospital.

My favorite thing about Charleston would have to be the beaches. I have never lived in a coastal city before and it still feels like a dream!

I’m a community nutrition promotion intern from New Ulm, MN! I have my B.S. in Dietetics from the University of Wisconsin - Stout, and my MPH in Public Health Nutrition from the University of Minnesota. I love dogs 🐾 (especially my own), TJ Maxx, and cooking and baking for family and friends! ⏲

Smoothie bowls , chili, or a classic salad 🥗 are often the winners.

I chose MUSC because of the community focus, the wide variety of unique rotations, the opportunity to gain experience with a diverse population, and the weekly class time! 👩🏻‍💻👩🏼‍💻👩🏾‍💻

I am loving the beautiful beaches 🌊, the warm weather, and the delicious barbecue

Happy International Women's Day! This year our internship contains 12 incredible women who are moms, wives, and friends. They are resilient women who will no doubt represent the Dietetic field well in the future when they become RD's. We are thankful for the example of all the amazing female RD's who have worked hard in the past and continue to propel this profession forward. 🤍
