We completed our community helpers week with a visit from Farmer Jerry. He drove in on his tractor with hay and a grain buggy on it. The kids were real excited to sit in the cab and to learn about the grain buggy! They got to watch the cow feed come out of the grain buggy and see what the cows eat. They liked seeing the Mr and Mrs Frankenstein Halloween decorations on the hay bale. And Farmer Jerry gave the kids apples and lots of candy.

Mrs Ashley Vaughan, APRN, visited us for our Community Helpers week. She brought a Mickey Mouse doll to show us how she checks his heart. She talked to us about going to the doctor when we’re sick, taking medicine and getting shots to make us better. The children got to ask her some questions and they learned a lot.

Mr Gerald drove the big fire truck to Smart Start Preschool for the kids to see during our Community Helpers week. He answered a lot of questions from them. They enjoyed seeing the lights and getting in it. And they really liked Mr Gerald opening the doors on the compartments so they could see what was in them.

Mrs Michaela, from the Charleston Library, came to talk to us for our Community Helpers week. She told us the library is quiet and that we can get a library card to check books out. She read some books to us. We really liked the Hello Fall and The Sweetest Witch Around books. She let the kids pick out their very own books and they were so excited. Plus they got some stickers too!

Mrs Valerie brought two bunnies form their Rabbitry. She brought a Holland Lop bunny named Millie, and a Polish bunny named Ehlder. The kids were so excited to see and pet the bunnies! Mrs Valerie and Miss Anna showed the kids how to be gentle when petting bunnies. They learned about what rabbits eat and about different breeds of rabbits.
