Please tell us how many students will be graduating pharmacy school this semester. Also what percentage of them already have job offers?

Science Never Sleeps Podcast

Check out the most recent episode of the MUSC podcast Science Never Sleeps with guests Pat Woster and Catherine Mills. Woster is SmartState Endowed Chair in Medicinal Chemistry and chair of the Department of Drug Discovery and Biomedical Sciences and Mills is a Ph.D. student in his laboratory.

Host Loretta Lynch-Reichert talked with Woster about drug development, which is particularly relevant given the importance of the COVID vaccine. How did those vaccines get approved so quickly and still maintain safety? Woster gives insight to that question along with the “Chasm of Death,” what it means to be target-rich and pipeline-poor, speed-dating with angels, and many other facets of drug discovery. #MUSCpharmacy #WeareMUSCpharmacy

Did you know that there is a dual degree program between The Citadel and MUSC that allows students to achieve both a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) in the same four-year period?

As constructed, this dual degree program conveys a significant savings in time and money. The Citadel MBA program provides PharmD students with substantial flexibility with evening and online courses.

Students from MUSC's PharmD program who simultaneously enroll in The Citadel's MBA program will also be given four vouchers at the time of admission. Each voucher is worth the cost of in-state tuition for one 3 credit hour course. Photos from MUSC College of Pharmacy's post 08/05/2021

Last Friday, we hosted our final prospective student event for the summer, PharmDamentals, and welcomed high school students from all over the U.S. Participants received an overview of the history of the pharmacy profession, interacted with current students to learn about student life at MUSC, and heard from a panel of pharmacists in a multitude of careers.

Panelist and Alumnus of the MUSC College of Pharmacy, Alex Novgorodov, passed along these wise words, “You don’t have to know exactly what you want to do right now. You never know what you are going to fall in love with, so my advice, be open to everything.”

Thank you to everyone who participated. We hope to cross paths again in the near future! #MUSCpharmacy
