The College of Pharmacy at the Medical University of South Carolina is a respected leader in education, research and patient care. The College provides a premier pharmacy education by uniting nationally-recognized faculty and high-achieving students with the innovative interprofessional learning opportunities offered at MUSC’s academic medical center. Located in beautiful and historic Charleston, S.C., MUSC College of Pharmacy has four academic degree programs, two research centers led by renowned endowed chairs, one of the oldest and largest residency programs in the country, more than 900 preceptors in a world-wide experiential program, and a collaborative continuing education program. This is an opportunity for advanced hands-on training in the imaging modalities that the Cell & Molecular Imaging Facility offers. Participation in the Workshop will allow more productive and economical use of our facility. A limited number of scholarships to help defray the registration fee are available sponsored by HCC. Match Day.

All over the country, pharmacy school campuses tingle with an electric atmosphere as excited and anxious pharmacy students find out just which door they'll be walking through to start their residencies.

The 2019 American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Resident Matching Program Match Day is March 15 and residencies are highly competitive.

In 2018, 5,560 students participated in the match for post-graduate year one (PGY1) residencies with 3,635 successfully matching. Pharmacy students in the Class of 2018 at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) had the distinction of posting the highest Phase I PGY1 match rate in the country.

The MUSC Pharmacy Alumni Association named the Ralph M. Wilkie ’53 Alumni Association Scholarship to honor the commitment and dedication of Mr. Ralph Wilkie to the College of Pharmacy and the profession of pharmacy. The scholarship was awarded to John Stanas who is pictured with Susan Master representing the Alumni Association.

The Mr. F. Joseph Hodge Endowed Scholarship Fund awarded a scholarship to Madison Salem this year. Joe Hodge joined the faculty of College of Pharmacy in 1971 and taught Pharmacy Law, Substance Abuse, Geriatrics, and Long Term Care. Joan Hodge and her daughter Peggy Low are pictured with Madison Salem.

The Nathalee Hare Memorial Scholarship was established in 2005 through gifts from fellow students, faculty, family and friends in memory of a Class of 2007 student Nathalee Hare. The scholarship was awarded to Morgan Cantley.

Dr. Hall and Dr. Ragucci had the privilege of introducing pharmacy education leaders from across the country to the work and expertise to MUSC’s own Dr. Willette Burnham Williams (center) at the AACP Interim Meeting in Tampa, Florida.
