🎓 FROM HIGH SCHOOL TO KANAWHA VALLEY TOURISM.
Now boarding: Fall 2026. ✈️🌄

Kanawha Valley Tourism is opening its internship program to students ready to gain real-world experience, build their professional portfolio, earn industry credentials, and explore what a career in tourism can look like.

Through the program, interns will have the opportunity to:

• Earn 12 microcredentials + 1 hour of college credit through West Virginia Tourism Works
• Become a Certified Destination Specialist
• Gain hands-on experience in tourism marketing, events, storytelling & community engagement
• Earn verified volunteer/service hours
• Build a professional portfolio with real-world projects
• Receive a professional recommendation letter upon successful completion
• Connect with local businesses and tourism professionals

This is a non-paid internship program with a pathway to a paid summer internship opportunity with Kanawha Valley Tourism. Completion of the West Virginia Tourism Works training program is required to be considered for the paid summer opportunity. Selection is competitive and not guaranteed.

It will ask for your résumé, references, etc. And then when the job is posted either on Tuesday or Wednesday, you will have the hard work completed and can just simply bid on the job.
