About the Founder
I’ve always loved the outdoors and the quiet beauty of nature. My interest in birds began while I was working as a PGA professional at Bulls Bay Golf Club, when I noticed a small heron fishing along a pond. Curious to learn more, I used the Merlin Bird ID app and discovered it was a Green Heron. That moment sparked something in me, a fascination that quickly grew into a lifelong

A truly wild day at Pitt Street Bridge. 🐢🦅

While leading a charity birding tour for Charleston Audubon with three wonderful local photographers—Joe, Charlie, and Rufus—we were treated to an incredible variety of wildlife.

Around 2 PM on a falling tide, Black Skimmers and terns were actively feeding around Pitt Street Bridge. Many were catching fish in the creeks and harbor before carrying them back to their nests on nearby Crab Bank.

The reel only captures a small part of what we experienced. By the end of the afternoon, we had recorded nearly 30 bird species along with a Diamondback Terrapin, a mink, dolphins, a shark, a stingray, and plenty of fish activity.

Some days everything just comes together.

What’s the coolest thing you’ve seen at Pitt Street Bridge?

The May Bird Patch Club patch has arrived — the Burrowing Owl 🦉

One of North America’s most unique owls, Burrowing Owls spend much of their time on the ground rather than in trees. This species also became a memorable bird for many Charleston birders this winter after a rare individual spent several months around Fort Sumter.

Each Bird Patch Club delivery includes:
• Embroidered bird patch
• Collectible bird card
• Sticker
