The holidays are all about giving and with all the give-give-give, our personal time and energy can begin to feel drained. It’s important to commit to taking care of ourselves and by doing small, mindful acts, we can maintain a sense of calm and balance, even with the occasional overwhelming festivities.
During the holidays, many of us are on our feet a little more than usual, whether shopping, cooking, or hosting those big meals. To relieve tension and improve circulation, try the “Legs Up the Wall” pose when you can find 10-15 minutes to carve out of your already busy schedule. This restful position allows blood and lymphatic fluid to drain, reducing leg swelling and easing tired muscles.
How to Do It:
Lie on your back with your legs resting vertically against a wall.
Breathe deeply and relax into the position for 10-15 minutes.
