Congratulations to our Founder, Larry Boggs, on being named the University of Charleston Alumnus of the Year!

This award recognizes UC graduates who demonstrate professional achievement, service to their community, and a continued commitment to the values of the University.

From his years of military service to founding Healing Waters For Warriors, Larry has continued to dedicate his life to serving others, especially our veterans and first responders.

We are incredibly proud to see his commitment to service and community recognized by the University of Charleston.

A huge congratulations to the Phi Beta Chapter at The College of William & Mary for being awarded Chapter of the Year at the National Convention!

This recognition reflects their outstanding work throughout the past year, including strong chapter leadership, financial management, communication with HQ, and a commitment to growth. Their dedication to philanthropy, community service, and recruitment exemplifies what it means to lead with purpose.

We are incredibly proud of the Phi Beta Chapter and all they have accomplished. They represented KDR with excellence this past year, and we look forward to all they will continue to achieve.

You never known who you’ll meet, or the reason you were meant to cross paths. ❤️

God works in mysterious ways. Tonight I’m walking along the North Shore and this man, Sam, comes up to me and I say I love your shirt. It was about church. He said he felt like he was having a heart attack and I called 911 and waited with him. As we talked, he told me he went to IUP and I said so did I. Said he was a KDR, so was I.. he was class of 1984 and I was 2006.. He was president of the fraternity and so was I. He knew our house address of 294 South 7th street and gave me the secret handshake and I couldn’t believe it. God connected us tonight to be there for each other. ☮️ 1 ❤️

This past week, seven Chi Beta alumni proudly represented our chapter at the 108th National Convention in Chicago! Our group ranged from Founding Fathers to two of our Newest Members, with classes in between. Over three days, we packed in visits to downtown Chicago, Wrigley Field, the Art Institute, and more—an unforgettable mix of brotherhood and adventure.

We also got down to business. Our two new members spent full days in training sessions on social excellence, risk management, and campus relationship building. I joined several alumni workshops focused on strengthening alumni corporations, using social networks effectively, and connecting with New Members in meaningful ways. Across the weekend, we built valuable connections that will support both the active chapter help launch our alumni corporation and personal connections.

A few exciting highlights: Chi Beta received a combined $5,600 in scholarships awarded to 2025 graduate Will Belongia and 2026 graduate Zach Newsome for their post‑graduate studies. And 1996 alumnus Larry Boggs was inducted into the Ordo Honoris, placing him among Kappa Delta Rho’s most distinguished alumni for his achievements and service. Huge congratulations to all our honorees!

Homecoming is September 24–26. Please let me know if you’ll be returning to campus—we’ll once again be hosting our alumni and family tailgate, and we’d love to see you there.

Just a reminder that we are having an alumni tailgate this Saturday prior to the U.C./State football game. UC is still undefeated and State is always a great rivalry game. It is also Senior Day again for Big Donnie and the active chapter has a couple other starters as well.

Family and friends are always welcome and hopefully you can stop by even if it’s for a few minutes. Would love to see you there.
