Our third annual Unified PE basketball game is THIS Friday at lunch!!
Harper completed a project about the Multiple Intelligences for his psychology class! He gave his classmates a questionnaire about their learning styles and used the data to determine their top intelligences. Before sharing the results, he presented a PowerPoint about the Multiple Intelligences.
Today, our Unified PE basketball team, along with this semesters scholars, traveled to James Island Charter High to play in our annual JI vs BE basketball game!
We may have lost this year but we are so proud of how well both teams played! It was a great competition and we can’t wait for the next one!
As part of our Family Heritage project our students painted a tribute to their family members who served in the military and fought for our freedom.
We want to honor and thank all veterans on this Veterans Day!

Our class welcomed our new pet, Alexander Hermann the Hermann Tortoise, to the room this afternoon! Everyone is so excited to have a new pet to care for!

The annual Lowcountry Buddy Walk last weekend was a huge success! We had a great group of students, faculty, and families out to support! We had a number of students volunteering at the bounce houses and face painting stations throughout the day. We loved being able to connect with students from past years and getting to see our current student, Morgan, perform with her dancing group! We can’t wait for next year!

The first 6 weeks! It’s been busy in the Options room!
Some of our students participated in the Hero’s Walk this morning! We love to see them in the community supporting great causes!
Our club activities officially started last night at our first club tailgate! Everyone went all out in their pink and loved connecting with their classmates! We can’t wait for more activities this semester! It’s going to be a great year!
Harvest day in the garden!!
Yesterday, we took our class to Boone Hall to learn about bees and pollination. During the presentation, we learned about the importance of bees, the roles they have in the hive, and how they pollinate and even got to find the queen bee in a hive! After the presentation, we went and picked blueberries to take back with us. Stay tuned to see what we make tomorrow with the blueberries!
Our summer program has started! Every day we start by taking care of our garden. The garden has been providing us zucchini, squash and peppers so far with tomato’s and cucumbers almost ready to harvest!
School may be out but are class garden has been busy! We can’t wait for our summer program to begin so the Options students can continue to help these plants grow!
Our last week included our baby chicks hatching, croquet in the courtyard, lunch at Orlando’s to celebrate our seniors, band of buddies ice cream party, yearbook signing, Publix shopping, cooking and great memories with our seniors!
We are sad to see our seniors go but grateful for the impact they have had on our kids and our program!
We are so thankful for our students and their families for making us feel extra supported during teacher appreciation week with these beautiful flowers 💙
Everyone had a great time at the Bocce Bash this year! we have been practicing for the last two weeks and it paid off! We can’t wait until next year!
We are so proud of our Sophia for receiving a world history award last night at our academic awards night! World history is her favorite class and Mr. Raggo is her favorite teacher! We are so happy to see her hard work paying off!

It’s bocce season in Unified PE and our students are loving it!!
Yesterday, our Buddy Baristas were asked to make coffee for all of our career day speakers. Our kids did a great job taking orders, making coffee, and delivering them.
This is one of their favorite days where they get to show off their coffee skills! They already can’t wait for next year!

What a game!! Today, we hosted James Island High School in our second Unified basketball game! Both teams played hard but this time WE got to come out as winners!
Thank you to everyone who came out to support both teams! Everyone had so much fun!
Our classsroom smelled of delicious pizza bagels this afternoon! Life Skills made pizza today after making a list and shopping for their ingredients earlier in the week. We have been so impressed with them and how they have improved their cooking skills throughout the semester so far!
A little partner reading outside was just what English I needed to finish out our week!
Our students and scholars practiced singing the alma mater all week to lead the entire school at our pep rally! We are so proud of them!
