This is what math can look like when integrated into STEAM! Fifth graders explored Shashibo cubes with Ms. Waldron and made an assortment of captivating and complex shape sculptures. Biomimicry is naturally a part of the lesson with students relating their sculptures to familiar objects in nature.

Days 4 & 5 of Arts Advocacy Week highlights the past week of school at ARCAE. Our special area team, along with our guidance counselor, focused on encouraging our students to let their “kindness glow.” Teachers integrated topics focused on light and kindness across multiple art and content areas. Here is a peek at our kindergarten students in Dance class focusing cross arm movements and cascading objects. Thank you to these arts organizations for supporting the arts in schools: SC Arts Alliance, Arts in Basic Curriculum Project, and the South Carolina Arts Commission.
