Signs of spring, of brightness and warmth and new beginnings. The transition of seasons is remarkable to witness here in our small village in France. The pace of life picks back up as the weather warms. Shops reopen (to somewhat regular hours), the cafes finally set their tables and chairs back outside and everything starts to feel so alive. Living with the seasons aligns people with all aspects of nature- the plants, weather, animals. Everyone and everything slows down and go inward for winter and then bursts out as spring approaches. Patience has been learned and required as we shed our consistent and fast paced lifestyles from the US. But what invaluable lessons we have learned from following the pace of nature.

Giverny has been on my bucket list for years—and it was every bit the dreamy, slow-paced reminder I needed to just be.

I used to paint scenes from Monet’s garden in middle and high school, piecing them together from books and posters… so being here, in person, with my own kids? Incredibly special. Even if they’re still too young to fully get it.

My son, though—he’s been carrying a sketchbook everywhere since we landed in France. While he’s usually sketching tanks and ships, I watched something click as he took in the colors and light at Monet’s house. I think he felt it.

2025: Intentions vs Resolutions. Rather than resolutions, I’ve found myself drawn to setting intentions. Intentions seem softer, more forgiving, and aim to create and inspire feelings a sense of being rather than visible results.

Focus on your values, goals, and the feelings you want to experience as a family. Those inner senses will always be your guide. In by inch, you will align you life to your inner knowledge and feel the expansion of true wellbeing.
