Have you heard about co-prescribing? When a physicians prescribes naloxone (an opioid reversal drug) with an opioid prescription, this is call co-prescribing. How do most people who misuse prescription opioids obtain them? According to a recent publication released from SAMHSA, the overwhelming majority of people who misuse prescription pain relievers obtain them from a friend or relative (50.8%).

The WV DII launched an medication safety and responsibility program for college students this year - with the goal is to educate college students about the dangers of prescription misuse and provide them with tools to prevent misuse and develop healthy medication practices for their lives.
