We will be discussing and learning about mental health, how it impacts Lowcountry families, exploring best practices in mental health
approaches for school-based systems, and gaining access to culturally appropriate school-based and community-based counseling resources. The event is free and lunch will be provided! Last Week Thursday (7/29) we had a great turn out of parents, community leaders, and advocates. We discussed 3 main priorities and we are ready to hear more!! Come to our Virtual House Meeting on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 7pm to hear more about the changes that need to occur and how the CPLN will get it done!

We aim to organize our powerful parent teams by creating a culture of high achievement and effectively supporting the Lowcountry and surrounding communities. Parent Power Changes Everything!

Our vision is to see improvements in every student, classroom, school and school district through collective advancements. We accomplish this by setting goals, and the avenue to success is by reducing and eliminating the marginalization of parent power.

The Charleston Urban League's objective is to move from the current reality of a lack of resources, and a lack of funding, which perpetuates failure and under-achievement to well-funded, adequately resourced schools, ultimately resulting in high achieving, successful students. Our goal is to organize parents and other committed individuals in order to create resilient power within underserved, minority, communities. In doing so, we would truly fulfill the Urban League’s motto: Empowering Communities, Changing Lives.
