Build season has officially begun! The build team has made the base, created a successful output, and started constructing the wheels. The programmers are currently working on getting the robot to drive. Overall this season has got off to a great start!

CALLING ALL INNOVATORS!
Team #8770 – The Charles City FireBolts from Charles City High School, IA are seeking mentors for the 2025–2026 FRC Robotics Season!

Mentors are the foundation of our team — guiding, inspiring, and empowering students to turn ideas into reality. Our current mentors are all dedicated volunteers who bring their professional expertise to help students learn, build, and grow. Without strong mentor support, the challenge often falls on coaches and students who can’t possibly know it all — and that’s where you come in!

We’re especially looking for mentors with experience or interest in:
-Mechanical Design & CAD
-Rapid Prototyping & Fabrication
-Electrical Engineering
-Software Engineering (C++ preferred)
-Fundraising & Community Outreach

Whether you can give a few hours a week or help occasionally, your involvement makes a huge difference in shaping the next generation of innovators and problem solvers.

Big moment for Iowa robotics!

Dubuque’s FIRST Robotics Competition Team Servos Strike Back members Ella M. and Cole G. had the honor of standing with Governor Kim Reynolds as she signed SF278 into law — officially recognizing robotics teams like ours as a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) and as a state-recognized school activity.

This bill opens the door to federal funding for robotics teams across Iowa — a huge win for STEM education and student innovation. 🙌

We’re incredibly proud to have played a role in spreading the word and meeting with legislators to help make this happen.

🚀 Let’s keep building the future — one robot at a time.

Since it’s been a while since we’ve posted anything, I thought it would be nice to post some pictures of the second half of our season and our start of our offseason.
We finished our robot in time for the Iowa Regional in Cedar Falls towards the end of March, had a couple weeks off, then did some STEM teaching with homeschool students in the Home School Assistance Program in Charles City in April. At the end of May we were asked to come to a STEM fair in Decorah to present to all students and some staff about our robot. We had a great time with everything and really appreciated being asked to come in and present. Such a great time.
