Mentors donโt just master their craft โ they make sure others can master it, too.
This week we honor ๐๐ซ. ๐๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ๐ ๐๐๐ง๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ฌ๐, whose career has been defined by innovation, education, and a deep commitment to advancing equine sports medicine.
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Genovese built a career spanning more than five decades, including his work with Randall Veterinary Hospital and as cofounder of Cleveland Equine Clinic LLC. Widely recognized as a pioneer in equine limb ultrasonography, his advancements helped transform how veterinarians diagnose and treat lameness โ influencing care for horses around the world. Many can attest to his dedication and impact, which led to him joining The Foundation for the Horse's My Mentor Honor Wall in 2019.
But perhaps his greatest impact is found in those who continue to follow his guidance.
โHis love of equine veterinary medicine has always been clear and unquestionable to both clients and peers alike. Dr. Genovese would always take time to explain what and why he was doing something during a case to whomever wanted to listen, whether a high school student shadowing or a fellow veterinarian working on a case. He simply lives and works for the teachable moments to whomever is interested.
