🌼 Celebrating the Life and Art of Yayoi Kusama 🌼

Today, we learned of the passing of one of A Kid at Art for the Heart’s™ favorite artists, Yayoi Kusama.

She taught us that art can be joyful, playful, imaginative, and even healing.

For many years, we have had the joy of introducing our preschool artists to the work of Yayoi Kusama and watching their worlds expand and their imaginations take off.

We have watched little hands create dots and patterns in colorful ways inspired by her artwork.

We have heard children proudly say, “I can do it!” And we have been reminded, again and again, that there are no limits to what a young child can imagine.

We are grateful for the colorful world she created—and for the countless children who will continue to discover it.

Thank you, Yayoi Kusama, for showing us that a simple dot can become a whole universe.

We will keep her memory alive by creating, exploring, imagining, and finding joy and healing through art—one dot at a time. 🔴🟡🔵

Because of your generous grant, we were able to introduce a bilingual program during this past school year, creating new opportunities for even more students to learn about and engage with the arts.
