Oak Lane Child Care Center

Our goal is to provide a strong, developmentally appropriate education for young children.

Oak Lane was founded in 1972 by a group of working parents from the Pleasantville Cottage School in Pleasantville, NY. We began as a community of families and staff working together to create the best environment for the children. In 1982, Oak Lane was able to purchase our current home in Chappaqua, NY. The security of owning our home along with our philosophy of providing an enriching environment focusing on buidling lifelong learners make Oak Lane an ideal child care center for your child.

Oak Lane's Annual Thanksgiving Feast

Today we got to enjoy one of Oak Lane's favorite traditions, the annual Thanksgiving feast. The Coconuts host the Walnut and Chestnut Classes in their classroom and the children decorate the classroom and tables for the feast. Our Acorns also enjoyed their meal in their own classroom. Thank you to our very talented and wonderful chef Matilde for this delicious meal! 🦃🍂🥧

Happy Earth Day! 🌎

To celebrate Earth Day, each classroom learned a way to take care of our planet.

The Acorns learned about Recycling and created collages using materials in the environment. They enjoyed reading "The Earth Book" by Todd Parr.

The Walnuts planted seeds in the greenhouse and started a Root Vue Farm in their classroom. They read the book "The Earth Gives More" by Sue Fliess.

The Chestnuts planted green beans and have been fascinated watching them grow. This week the green beans measure 14" tall. They read " How The Crayons Saved The Earth" by Monica Sweeney and then listed ways they can help save the Earth.

The Coconuts played Earth Day Bingo. They were creative in their art project as they used handprints to create planet Earth. They each made a promise to take care of the Earth and to protect all the animals.
