Yesterday we received word from the Kansas Department of Agriculture, Kansas Department of Health, and the Clay Center Meat Locker about the recall on ready to eat hams that were sold as a part of our fundraiser this year.

The recall only impacts the ready to eat hams sold. All other products sold are not impacted by this recall.

Being on Christmas Break, we are working to contact members who sold the hams to alert their customers who purchased the hams.

If you have already consumed the ham, as we know many did for Christmas, please monitor your health. And if any issues arise please contact your health provider. We also are attaching a information sheet on Listeriosis to keep you informed.

If you still have the ham, please contact the Clay Center Locker directly and they can issue a refund. If you have further questions please contact the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. The contacts for those are included in the press release attached.

Thank you.

Thank you to all the Farmers in the Dickinson, Geary, Morris and Clay Counties that have had an impact on our chapter over the years.

Our FFA Chapter is blessed to work in a community with a multitude of farming operations. Without the dedication and determination of our farmers and their families, we know our rural community wouldn’t be able to survive.

So on this day, October 12th, thank a Farmer in your life. Because without them, without agriculture, our future doesn’t exist. #thankafarmer
