Christine Pavilonis-Miller is very excited to be part of the St. Thomas Preschool Program as the PreK3B teacher. She has been an Early Childhood Educator for over thirty years and has a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood from Wheelock College. For most of her career, Mrs. Pavilonis-Miller taught in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and her previous teaching positions included children ranging in age from three to four years old. She has recently relocated to North Carolina to be closer to family.

Mrs. Pavilonis-Miller believes that every child is unique and valued when they enter the classroom, and all are viewed as readers and writers. She enjoys helping the children explore and learn about the world, and many times it may involve messy hands. When she is not teaching and learning in the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her family.

Mr. Andrew Vickery is from Chapel Hill and a graduate of STM. He has travelled and lived in many different parts of the country after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in history. While in Oregon, his experience as Director of Religious Education for Sacred Heart Catholic Church in the Diocese of Baker (Eastern Oregon), instilled in him enthusiasm for teaching the Catholic faith. After working as a middle school teacher in Klamath Falls, Oregon, Mr. Vickery taught third grade last year at Blessed Sacrament School in Burlington, NC. He found that the experience of teaching in a Catholic school revived the joy he had experienced as Director of Religious Education. As an alum of Saint Thomas More (Kindergarten through 6th grade), Mr. Vickery is delighted to be teaching middle school religious education for his alma mater.
