Congrats to the 9 students from East Chapel Hill who were selected to perform with the Eastern Regional String and Symphony Orchestras this weekend at East Carolina University. Bravo!

What a great opening day of the NC Central District Band. Great music with great clinicians...and I got a few steps in, too. :-)

The BEST students are music students! Thank you to all of those who helped set up for the Central District Honors Band this weekend! I'd still be at school setting up if it weren't for you, and it only took you 40 minutes from start to finish. Bravo!

Congrats to all of the mentors for their support and bridge building between middle and high school. I am grateful for your time and dedication.

After the final winter concert of the year, an ancient secret tradition is carried out. The annual "Distribution of the Sweets" is a sacred tradition where a mysterious elder divides up the cookies from the winter concerts only to emerge once more on the final class day of 2024.

Wow...what an awesome time tonight. Congrats to the Phillips MS 8th Grade Band and to all of the East Bands for a great evening of music and fellowship.

One of my favorite gigs of the year is the Nutcracker. I love making magic for kids of all ages to enjoy. :-) It's especially great to see East's own trombone player Avery dance as lead role on stage as well.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I enjoyed some professional development this morning with Mr. Jones, Culbreath Choir director. He did the 5k, while *some* folks did the 8k...gobble gobble!
