“Forging an avenue for interdisciplinary learning between dentistry and athletics”
The UNC SoD Sports Dentistry Club is a group of DDS students who are passionate about dentistry and athletic care. Our goals are to learn about different prevention, screening, and treatment options for athletes, arrange lectures from team dentists of professional and college athletics, and host interprofessional events including other members of the athletic medical team. We are involved with Special Smiles to provide care for Special Olympics athletes.

Thanks to all our members who came out for our Lunch & Learn with Dr. Larry Seitlin, the official dentist of the Charlotte Hornets! We talked dental trauma, digital scanners, and heard about some of the awesome experiences he has been able to have as a team dentist.

Come on out TOMORROW night for the 1st annual Dental Dodgeball Tournament,! All registration proceeds will go towards TeamSmile, which provides free pediatric dental care to the underserved. We can't wait to see who takes home the trophy!

We loved participating in the UNC Athletics Mouthguard Program for UNC football, lacrosse, field hockey, and softball athletes. Thank you to our wonderful club advisor Dr. Duqum for involving us in this great event!
