Welcome to the Smith Administration.

This administration is built on the belief that graduate and professional students should help shape the decisions that affect their experience at Carolina. Through our Collaborative Input initiative, students can submit ideas, concerns, barriers, and opportunities for improvement directly to GPSG. We are committed to listening first, acting intentionally, and ensuring that student voices remain at the center of our work. Visit our Linktree to share your feedback and help guide our priorities throughout the year.

Graduate and professional education extends far beyond the classroom. We are committed to strengthening community, creating meaningful traditions, expanding mentorship opportunities, and fostering a culture of service across Carolina. By bringing students together across schools and disciplines, we hope to create a graduate and professional student experience that is connected, collaborative, and lasting.

Happy Pride Month, Tar Heels!

Pride Month is an opportunity to celebrate LGBTQIA+ students, faculty, staff, researchers, clinicians, advocates, and leaders whose contributions continue to shape our campus and beyond. It is also a reminder that every member of our community deserves to feel valued, supported, and empowered to be their authentic self.

This month and every month, GPSG remains committed to fostering a Carolina where all Tar Heels can thrive.

A Tar Heel Tradition Worth Passing Down🎓🐏

We’re building a regalia share network to make graduation more accessible for future Tar Heels while keeping the tradition going.

Graduating this year? You can donate your regalia after commencement, after photos, or whenever you’re ready.

Carolina alumni—this includes you too. If you still have your regalia from the 2021 academic year to present, you can help the next Tar Heel walk the stage.

Let’s pass it down. 🩵

Want to set up a time to donate after commencement?

Reach out to [email protected], [email protected], or [email protected] to coordinate.

Not your regularly programmed post from GPSG 😂 BUT I do want to thank all the Graduate and Professional students at UNC for all the hard work that you all do. I also want to acknowledge the fact that while it is Spring Break for the university, many of us are still on campus working. Please take the time to care for yourself this week ✨
