Alianza is a student organization at UNC-Chapel Hill that was founded in 2007 to educate the campus and community about farmworker issues, work in conjunction with fellow farmworker advocacy organizations, and advocate for farmworkers at the local, state, and national levels.

While most 18-year-olds graduate from high school a little unsure of what’s next, Gillary knows exactly where she’s headed, and she has a heart full of passion, drive, and excitement to get her there. She is one of FLOC's rising leaders, tackling issues like sexual harassment in schools, violence, discrimination, police brutality, and other local issues facing the youth in her neighborhood.

Migrant workers have been shot in Manolada farm 28 migrant workers working at a strawberry production farm in Manolada, Greece were shot because they demanded to get paid, after six months of unpaid work. According to the press reports, there were no fatal injuries among the Bangladeshi workers.
EVERY UNC BOG MEMBER RECEIVED A PETITION. while none have pledged their support (shocker) and david powers stated that he will not be stepping down from his position (shocker), we showed that we are willing to travel 2.5 hours to have our voices be heard. good work yall.

8 Days to Support Farmworker Organizing: Will you join FLOC?
TODAY is Day 1!
Next week, FLOC members from all over Mexico will gather for our annual Leadership Training in Monterrey, MX.
For two days members come together to strategize on how to build the union in their camps here in NC, how to deal with daily workplace issues and defend their basic rights, and this year we’ll be planning for our National Convention in OH. This is union democracy in action!
We have 8 days to rally behind our members and pull together the resources for this meeting. Here's how you can help:
$25 will cover the food costs for a member for one day of the meeting
$50 will pay for a round trip bus ticket for one of our members
$100 will pay for lodging for a member for the weekend.
$500 will cover the cost of the bus one way to pick up members from their home towns and allow them to travel safely to the meeting. Make it $1,000 and we’ve got a round trip bus!
