We know summer might feel a bit disorienting, especially with everything going on in the world right now. But taking care of your mental health is more important than ever. Over the next couple of weeks, we'll share tips to help you stay grounded, UNC resources still available over the summer, and more about how to take care of yourself while you're away from the campus community. 🩵

“The Memories of Unity” portrays the difficult yet memorable journey that the Class of 2024 has experienced through the pandemic as we entered this new chapter of our lives and are now ending it with reminiscence and hopes for the future. As a class, we met new friends within the mere two weeks of Fall 2020 before having to navigate college under “a different lens.” These are the friends we will treasure for life as we emerge from hardships: thriving through the challenging online COVID lecture videos, uniting across campus during remonstrations, and serenading together during basketball games or music jams at the Pit. The moment we take a snapshot of us in graduation gowns does not signify the end of an era but a beginning of a new chapter of life where resilience and unity thrive like red roses on a summer day. See you, Class of ‘24. 🌹

We're standing together in denim for Denim Day 2024. 🩵 By wearing denim today, we show our support for sexual assault survivors and hope to remind them that at UNC, no survivor is alone. In 2023, UNC students crafted a quilt to honor survivors of sexual violence and to provide a visual representation of unwavering solidarity. The Union is proud to have that quilt on display on our third floor, where you can see these incredible messages and learn more.

Today, we shine a spotlight on exemplary academic, service, and leadership across UNC-Chapel Hill at the 2024 Chancellor's Awards. 🌟 Follow along as we recognize award recipients who embody the essence of UNC's motto - "Lux, Libertas" or "Light and Liberty" - through their academic excellence, unwavering dedication to service, and inspiring leadership. ❓What do you do at the Union?
🔹 I work in CCS as a Communications Assistant, but I also am an Operations Coordinator here at the Union and will be taking over as Administrative Lead starting in the Fall!
❓What does a typical day look like for you at the Union?
🔹 It really depends on the day, some days theres so much to do, other days its really easy going. Either way its always entertaining!
❓What do you want to do after you graduate?
🔹 I'm not sure yet! But most of the work I've done outside the Union has dealt with education policy, so I could easily see myself working in that field.
❓What is your dream travel destination?
🔹 Amsterdam! I've always wanted to go and I plan to go after I graduate.
