Time and again, UNC-Chapel Hill has placed the value of profit over the livelihood of the very students, staff and community they serve.
Please join our partners Sept. 22nd at 10:00am for a student-led virtual protest action where we will say ENOUGH to administration ignoring the voice of their own, and demand that people’s health and safety become a priority. Tag:NoCoalUNC

As we continue to do our best during the COVID-19 pandemic to protect ourselves and our communities, we must hold decision-makers accountable for worsening the harm of this virus by polluting our air. This Wednesday night come learn about the intersectional impacts of air pollution and COVID-19, and how these impacts are hitting marginalized communities the hardest. Some decision-makers and media claim that we have to choose between economic well-being and public health and safety. But what would it look like if we created an economy that thrived because it supported us—all of us, everywhere—to flourish? It’s time for a Just Recovery that will heal our communities and our planet by ending dig-burn-dump-exploit-oppress-kill business as usual.
This interactive webinar will enable us to plant the seeds of a Just Recovery and cultivate a regenerative economy. Frontline leaders will guide our discussion of the 4 Rs of social transformation. We will explore how to win the policy reforms we need to meet critical needs now; build creative resistance to injustice; hone our radical imagination and move from short term mutual aid to democratically owned enterprises.

“We live in a hard time, but I think it’s important for us to work together, form partnerships. We are all dealing with really hard issues. Issues of climate change, issues of educational attainment, racism, sexism. All of these things are very dark, but we are all people.” - Allie Omens
Check out this Daily Tar Heel article to hear what students like Allie, Olivia Corriere, and SEAC member Owen Ryerson are doing to improve sustainability at UNC.
