The Graduate Student Association was formed as a common ground for interaction among graduate students in all graduate programs within the School of Education.
Through this interaction, the GSA works to respond to graduate student needs, concerns and interests. The GSA is a student run organization which thrives on graduate student participation. Please let us know what we can do to help make your life as a graduate student better and help us to make the GSA better!

GSA SPRING SOCIAL at Durham Bulls Athletic Park!

All SOE students, staff, faculty, and their families and friends are invited to join the Graduate Student Association on May 3rd, 7:05pm at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park to celebrate the close of spring semester.
Covered seating is reserved and subsidized for SOE friends and families. $3 tickets can be purchased on a first-come, first-serve basis using the RSVP form below. All tickets above the allotted number will be full price ($12/ticket). $1 concessions are available at the ballpark that evening.
Carpooling is available for those interested.

Dr. Cheryl Matias is an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado at Denver School of Education & Human Development, and is the author of “Feeling White: Whiteness, Emotionality, and Education”.

Tuesday, March 6th, Noon Peabody 02 Dean & Professor Anderson’s talk on the history of African-American education. Dr. Anderson is the Edward William and Jane Marr Gutgsell Professor of Education, and dean of the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Anderson is considered the foremost authority on the history of African American education in the South, the history of higher education desegregation, the history of public school desegregation, and the history of African American school achievement in the 20th century.

Due to extenuating circumstances (weather!) and closeness to the winter break, the GSA has decided to move the Graduate Research Conference BACK to March 3rd, 2018!
