Kesem at UNC - Chapel Hill Kesem is a nationwide community, led by passionate college student leaders, that supports children through and beyond their parent’s cancer.

Kesem is a federally registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Kesem is a diverse community led by passionate and empathetic college students working to ensure that children facing the challenges of a parent’s cancer have space, connection, and support to rediscover the joys of childhood. Our mission is to support children through and beyond their parent’s cancer with free, fun-filled crea

tive programs and a lasting community. Camp Kesem at UNC-Chapel Hill was founded in 2016 and supports children in the North Carolina community by providing a free week-long summer camp experience and year-round peer support. Camp Kesem at UNC-Chapel Hill is operated by over 90 student volunteers and serves over 110 campers ages 6-18 per year. Kesem operates at more than 130 chapters coast-to-coast. Its programs and services are all funded by generous donations from individuals, foundations, and corporate partners.

CAMP KESEM 2026 WAS PURE MAGIC. ✨ We had the most incredible time making awesome new friends, participating in amazing activities, and being surrounded by such a supportive and wonderful group. There were countless laughs, hugs, cheers, and so much magic in the air. We are already counting the days until we're all back together again. 🐛💚

We want to give a huge thank you to everyone who made this week possible. To our exec team, program coordinator, national staff, and advisory board: thank you for putting in the hours, ideas, and work this whole year. To our camp advisors and health and wellness team: thank you for jumping in headfirst and providing incredible support for our campers. To our donors: thank you for your generous help that allowed us to best care for and plan programming for the kids. And finally, to our campers, counselors, and admin team: thank you for absolutely bringing the magic.

It has been an incredible year, and we are so excited for what's coming up very soon!
