NEW TEACHER FOR YOUNG DANCERS AT DURHAM ARTS COUNCIL. Welcome Elise Gobron!! She is teaching for us Saturday mornings. Elise Gobron began dancing at the age of three and has loved it ever since! Her formal ballet training began under the RAD style when she lived abroad in England studying at The Rhodes Academy of Dance in Windsor. Upon moving back to the states in grade school, her dance training continued under Jessica Wilson at MetroWest Ballet where she studied ballet, jazz, and modern. She was also fortunate enough to further her training at numerous summer intensives with programs including Boston Ballet, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, BalletWest, and Nashville Ballet. Elise then attended Oberlin College where she majored in Neuroscience and Dance. At Oberlin, Elise extended her dance studies into contemporary dance, west african dance, contact improvisation, samba, and choreographing original works for numerous departmental shows. Elise loves to share her passion for dance through teaching and is thrilled to be a part of the Triangle Youth Ballet team!

NEW CLASS AT Durham Arts Council!! Ballet Fundamentals with Amanda Miller Thursdays at 6:30.
Amanda K. Miller was the founder, Artistic Director, and choreographer of Pretty Ugly Dance Company from 1992 till 2009. Pretty Ugly toured internationally and won an array of awards and acclaim for unique artistic and social collaborations. In 2000, she founded Yummy Dance an improvisational and multi-disciplinary dance company in Matsuyama, Japan. 1984 to 1992 she was a founding member, principal dancer and resident choreographer of Ballett Frankfurt under the direction of William Forsythe
2009 she returned to her home NC and began instructing and choreographing at universities and institutions nationally and internationally. She continues to create, instruct, perform, choreograph, collaborate, instruct improvisational workshops. Works with expressive art projects that support dis-advantaged children and young adults. Summer Classes Started today!!

Holding our regularly scheduled classes today Friday Feb 21 until 5:30. Tomorrow, Saturday Feb 22 we are on regular schedule. Yay!! Dance Classes are Back!!!

Remaining closed again today (Th Feb 20) due to road conditions and dropping temperatures after the sun goes down. Enjoy the snow, stay safe and warm.

Please consult our makeup policy and ask your teacher if you need makeup class recommendations.

We are back on regular schedule today! But if your area still feels unsafe to drive, talk to your teacher next week about a make up class you can join.
