It has been over a decade since Freedom had a parade, so be sure to come out and show your support!

Does your child like donuts? The advisory class (one in each grade) who has the most PTA membership signups until Oct. 9 will win a donut party! The party will take place in Advisory on Friday, Oct. 13 (ooooo Friday the 13th....spooooky!). **If you are already a member, it counts!

Why the push for membership? There are a million reasons why we would love for everyone to be a PTA member, but the biggest reason right now is that membership prices will be increasing in October. So....take advantage before the price goes up! Plus, your child will love you even more if you help them win a donut party!

Are your kiddos ready to smile big for pictures? Picture day is taking place on Thursday, September 21 and Friday, September 22 during Resource/Spectrum classes. 2. Click around the website - There is information about what the PTA does, our calendar (as it stands now), our draft budget, and contact info for the PTA board. Once you do step #1, you're all set to look around.

3. Become a member - Rates are expected to increase slightly in Sept., so now is a great time to become a member! Your membership fees directly support all the PTA wants to do (see the homepage of the website for details). And becoming a member does not obligate you to volunteer or do anything else if you don't want (although we would LOVE it if you volunteered for things!). Good afternoon Lunsford community,

We are closely monitoring the air quality conditions as they pertain to our outside activities. As of now, we have canceled outdoor recess as well as outdoor options for PE classes.

Our main concern is tomorrow's field day, where several outdoor events are scheduled. Our admin team has devised plans A, B and C depending on both the air quality as well as the number of students present for school tomorrow. All field day events are currently on as scheduled with modifications ready to go to move them inside. The 8th grade cookout may need to be modified to have students grab their lunch from the outside grills and then move to the cafe.

We are confident that we will still be able to provide a fun day for our kids while maintaining safety. As always, please know that parents should always make decisions that they believe are in the best interest of their child.

The annual "Battle of Braddock Rd" takes place this Wednesday at Lightridge HS. Entry fee is $5 and all proceeds are donated to Children's Cancer Foundation. During the day, students will be treated to a pep rally and we'll follow a modified schedule.

The Freedom Girls Soccer program would like to invite you to our annual tailgate before our Osbourne Park game on Friday, May 5th at 5:15p at Freedom. You will have the opportunity to meet our coaches and players, enjoy some food, sit-in on the Varsity pre-game meeting, watch the JV game and Varsity warm-up, and be on the sideline for player introductions for the Varsity game vs. Osbourne Park at 7:15p. This is a great opportunity for girls interested in playing for Freedom in the next few years to get behind the scenes of the Freedom Girls Soccer program, ask questions, and see the action up-close. There is no charge to you to attend. Parents are encouraged to attend and watch the JV and Varsity games. Ticket prices for parents can be purchased through the TicketSpicket app.

We truly love it when our Lunsford community comes together for fun events! Friday's Basketball Tournament was a great success, with 36 teams participating. There was a lot of camaraderie and spectator support from the bleachers, and our families had a lot of fun.

Good morning,
We are excited to have your student signed up to participate in our annual 3x3 basketball tournament this Friday, March 24th! You are either listed as the point of contact for your child’s team, or are individually listed if your child was signed up through my matching them with peers. If you are the point of contact for your group of three, please pass this message along to the other parents of your child’s team.
This event is not a drop off event for our student spectators- they have been told on the morning announcements that this event is very different than Big Night Out. Spectators are there to watch basketball and cheer on their friends. It is not a Friday night social event for them. We do not have the staff supervision for the 3 x 3 the way we did for BNO and cannot accommodate the volume of students we saw that night. We have three admin team members supporting the 3 x 3- for Big Night Out, we had nearly 50 staff members.
We are asking that each participating team have (at least) one adult present who is responsible for them, as there will be down time in between their guaranteed two games. We hope that by having our parents in attendance, we can promote the good sportsmanship and responsible school behavior that is necessary for us to keep hosting fun events like these.

Parents Coffee at Lunsford with a College Funding Coach session. Thank you to the Couselling team for putting this together!

Join us tomorrow, Friday, March 17th at 9:30 AM, as the JML Counseling Department is hosting an in-person community presentation with The College Funding Coach.
