This is National School Counseling Week. We are thankful for our wonderful counselors. Thank you for being a part of our Brookfield community!
Yesterday we were honored with a visit by Volunteer Fairfax. Its mission is to mobilize people to meet community needs. On Tuesday they delivered more than 6,500 hand-crafted Valentine's cards. These cards were made for teachers and staff who work at Title I schools.

Volunteers from GrandInvolve, Kaiser Permanente, and many others made the cards. They did this to celebrate the work being done in our schools. Our wonderful principal, Ellen Mukai, received the cards on behalf of FCPS.

Here are some photos of the event. Afterward, Ms. Mukai walked around to deliver the cards to our staff.
We are so thankful to have Sully Supervisor Kathy Smith and representatives from Pohanka Automotive come and donate jackets for our students.
The SCA will be selling Candy Grams in the lobby every day next week from 7:55-8:10 for 50 cents each! Candy grams will be delivered to classrooms on February 14th.
We are excited to announce that Ellen Mukai has won the Outstanding New Principal award for Region 5! The Region 5 assistant superintendent and executive principals came to present her with the award. We are very proud of Ms. Mukai!
January 28th is Spirit Day! Students can come dressed as their favorite superheroes!
