Montessori School of Fairfax MSoFx is a family centered school dedicated to the Montessori pedagogy. Our mission is to provide a Our Montessori Directress, Mrs. Mrs. through 6 p.m.

The Montessori School of Fairfax is a family centered school that serves children from ages 18 months to 11 years. We have been serving our community for over 15 years, and we’re continually growing and expanding our services. We have one toddler class, three preschool classes, and our newest addition of two elementary classrooms for kids from first through sixth grades. Amiri, founded the school

in 1997 with a passion for teaching young children and a dedication to preparing them for successful academic futures. Amiri has been teaching for over 25 years and her teaching staff represents experienced Montessori professionals. Our school is known for its traditional Montessori teaching along with a warm family feel that makes both kids and parents excited about coming to our school. We offer morning classes for toddler and preschool, full day classes for kindergarten and elementary. We also offer before and after care from 7:30 a.m. to make it convenient for working parents. A hot lunch is provided for all full day students, and language, music, and physical fitness classes are also available. We’re proud of our school and have hundreds of happy parents and children to show for it. We are always happy to host tours of the school to show off our school and let families experience what we have to offer. Regularly scheduled tours are held at 9:30 a.m. on most Wednesdays, but we will gladly schedule private tours to accommodate schedules. Our school is recognized by the American Montessori Society and was named one of the Best Montessori Schools in Fairfax!

Maria Montessori celebrated more than 80 birthdays, but surely one of the best birthday gifts must have been a speech from a student on her 45th birthday, which happened on the closing day of a training course.

"I have gained a deeper respect for the child than ever before. I must also express something beyond simple appreciation—an admiration for the utter dedication of Dr. Montessori and the vision guiding her work. Without flattery, it is a revelation of genius joined to unremitting devotion to an idea. This is a lesson we can all learn. I feel I have learned it myself, and to me one of the greatest strengths of the Montessori System is that it opens the path of genius to the child."

Dear Colleagues, as Dr. Maria Montessori said, “The child is both a hope and a promise for mankind.” Today, this promise has never felt more urgent. We are called to create an education that nurtures peace, justice, and understanding. It’s our duty to equip young people not only to comprehend the world they are entering but to actively shape it. Climate denial, xenophobia, inequality, and nationalism threaten our shared future. We cannot let the past write the future; every day, we choose through our actions, our words, and our relationships what tomorrow will be. Together our focus on peace education is now all the more critical for the creation of a more just, equitable,and sustainable world .
