Stronger Together! 💜🩵

What a difference a year can make! 📈✨

Since the creation of New Horizons Fine Arts Magnet, our campus has been on a journey of growth, transformation, and renewed purpose. In 2025–2026, our new staff and administration came together with one shared commitment: to believe in our students, strengthen instruction, close gaps, and create new opportunities for every child.

And the results are showing! 🎉

Our campus experienced considerable growth across every major performance category, including:

📚 STAAR Performance: +7 points
🌱 Academic Growth: +14 points
🎯 Relative Performance: +11 points
📈 School Progress: +6 points
🎓 Student Achievement: +6 points
🤝 Closing the Gaps: +4 points
🏆 Overall Scale Score: +6 points

Most importantly, our overall score moved from 67 (D) in 2025 to 73 (C) in 2026! 💪

This progress represents more than numbers on a page. It represents students who kept pushing, teachers who kept believing, families who partnered with us, and a staff that refused to give up.

But we aren’t finished. This is only the beginning.

Our vision is clear. Our expectations are high. And we believe wholeheartedly that with continued hard work, collaboration, and commitment to our students, an A rating is within our reach. 🅰️

🍎✨ What a GREAT start to the school year! ✨🍎

Our administration team had the opportunity to celebrate our amazing staff by passing out a few treats as a small token of appreciation for all their hard work! 💜🩵

The first three days have been AMAZING, and that is because of the dedication, energy, and commitment of our incredible teachers and support staff. We truly have some of the hardest-working educators and staff members around! 👏🏽

Thank you for showing up every day ready to make a difference for our students. This year is already off to a fantastic start, and we can’t wait to see all that we accomplish together! 🐾💜🩵

📣 New Horizons Families! 🐾💜💙

We are ready to welcome our Cubs on their first day of school! 🎉📚

On the first day and only the first day, parents will be allowed to walk their children to their class.

🚗 PARKING: Please park in the designated area shown on the flyer.

🚪 ENTRANCE: Enter the building through the cafeteria-side door, as shown in the photo.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 ALL GRADE LEVELS! On the first day of school, parents of students in ALL grade levels are welcome to walk their children to their classrooms. 💙

⏰ IMPORTANT TIMES:
• Parents may enter the building beginning at 7:10 a.m.
• All parents must exit the building no later than 7:40 a.m.

💜 Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work together to keep our students safe and our campus organized.

💜💙 What an AMAZING Meet the Teacher! 💙💜

There’s nothing quite like seeing our halls filled with the smiles, excitement, and energy of our New Horizons Cubs! 🐾

Our entire campus was so happy to welcome back our students and parents for Meet the Teacher. Seeing familiar faces and meeting new members of our Cub family reminded us of just how special our school community truly is. ❤️

We are SO EXCITED for another amazing school year! We have a lot planned for our students this year—new opportunities, exciting experiences, engaging learning, and plenty of moments for our Cubs to shine! ✨

Most importantly, we are committed to continuing our academic growth. Together, our teachers, staff, students, and families will work to build on the progress we’ve made and push our Cubs to reach even higher levels of achievement. 📚📈

The 2026–2027 school year is going to be one to remember, and we’re just getting started!

Our annual welcome back parade was a major success. We saw so many of our students and our teachers had an amazing time cheering them on. Mr. Quintanilla was the Grand Marshall reminding all our cubs that it’s time to come back and learn! We hope you made it out and celebrated with us. We are so excited to see you for meet the teacher on Monday and first day of school on Wednesday! Paws up!

Mr. Quintanilla was awarded the Principal G.O.A.T. medal by the district today. It is an honor to be named the Principal G.O.A.T. Behind this award were long nights, hard work, data-driven decisions, targeted interventions, and intentional systems that helped create meaningful student growth. Every challenge was an opportunity to improve, and every success belongs to our students, teachers, and campus community.

We heard he will wear the medal to all events moving forward lol.

It’s that time of year! Back to school celebrations!!!! We are hosting our welcome back parade on August 7th (Friday) from 5pm until 6pm. Please review the route map below. Our teachers and staff are ready to see all our students! Make sure to come on out and say hi as we drive through the neighborhood.

Our teachers return to campus three days before the rest of the district for art integration professional development. This year we partnered with The Anderson Center For The Arts. Our teachers will learn art education techniques and strategies that will translate to higher level thinking and hands on instruction for all our students. Day one was focused on theater in the classroom. We can’t wait to share this with our students.
