Last night was unforgettable. Thank you to Commissioners Garcia, Ellis, and Ramsey for the proclamations recognizing me as Region IV Superintendent of the Year.

What made the night extra special was having my family by my side. My wife Cassandra was there, along with two of our three daughters—Taylor Monet, our graphic designer and insurance professional, and Dr. Khadija, our clinical pharmacist—and my granddaughter Zyra, who brings me so much joy. They never seek recognition, but their sacrifices make it possible for me to serve.

Thank you to our Board, staff, teachers, and community for all you do for our CISD students. This recognition reflects your work, your commitment, and the difference you make for our kids every day.

Congratulations to New Horizons Fine Arts Magnet at Crenshaw for earning this year’s District Trailblazer Award! In 2026, academic growth increased by 14, relative performance increased by 11, STAAR performance increased by 7, and the overall scale score increased by 6. We celebrate the steady work and focus that fueled this success for our students.

Congratulations to Channelview High School on earning our District Trailblazer Award! CHS posted strong gains in Algebra I, English I, English II, and Biology, and reached 97% CCMR, meaning nearly all graduates left ready for college, a career, or military service. Falcon Pride in action. .
