Congratulations to Natalie Alvarez for leading Mirada’s after school Kids Club to become accredited through the Arizona Center for Afterschool Excellence. She participated in coaching sessions, professional development opportunities, and site visits as part of the accreditation process. Natalie worked diligently to learn and implement the Arizona Afterschool Quality Standards. Congratulations, Natalie, on this well-deserved recognition and for your commitment to excellence in our Kids Club program at Mirada. We are lucky to have you!

The last day of school was bitter sweet! Mrs. Epolite, Mrs. Juetten, Mrs. Pomilio and Mrs. Crosby, led our fifth graders during the Clap Out! Students lined up the hallways, congratulating them on successfully finishing their elementary school years at Mirada Leadership Academy! The future is bright with these amazing leaders!

On the last day of school, our fifth graders had a breakfast made by our volunteers and the day ended with our 5th Grade Clap Out, led by our retiring teachers, Mrs. Epolite, Mrs. Juetten, and Mrs. Pomilio. We wish everyone a fun and memorable summer break. See you July 20 for Meet the Teacher.

Snacks, Rydables and ending the day with former Mirada Monarchs who are graduating high school! What a great last full day of elementary school as a fifth grader!

Fifth graders had so much fun at their Fifth Fest! They played kickball against the staff and parents, had some water slide fun, and of course snow cones and snacks!

Students created their own food truck business while learning about marketing and sales. The project included designing a food truck, creating a menu with prices, and making advertisements such as fliers, coupons, and business cards. Students also learned sales strategies to attract customers using fun promotions and creative ideas. This project encouraged creativity, teamwork, and entrepreneurship while making learning fun.
