🐴 Another great afternoon at Farm School! 💚
Today our young farmers took on the role of Horse Vets for the Day!

We started by feeding the horses dinner, checking on our growing chicks, and making a quick visit to the goats before escaping the heat back to the barn.

Then it was time to learn how to care for a horse! The kids explored a real equine first aid kit, listened to a horse's heartbeat with a stethoscope, learned about TPR (temperature, pulse, and respiration), talked about the signs of colic, and discussed when it's time to call the veterinarian.

Of course, the favorite part of the day was giving Karat a refreshing bubble bath to help beat the summer heat! 🫧🐴

It's so much fun watching these kids gain real farm skills and confidence while caring for our animals.

🐐 September and October Farm School sessions are now open for registration! We'd love to welcome more young farmers to join us for hands-on learning, science, crafts, and plenty of time with the animals here at Blue Heron Farm. 🌿

🎉 That's a wrap on the first week of our Fall Semester! 🐴🍂

What a fantastic start to the season! We loved welcoming so many new riders to Blue Heron Farm & Riding Academy while catching up with familiar faces who are back in the saddle.

There were plenty of smiles, a few first-time jitters, lots of learning, and the beginning of new friendships—both two-legged and four-legged. ❤️

Whether this was your very first riding lesson or you're continuing your journey through our Learning Levels, we're so excited to spend the next few months helping each rider grow in confidence, horsemanship, and horse sense.

A big welcome to all of our new barn families, and thank you to everyone who trusts us to be part of your child's horse journey. We can't wait to see what this semester brings!

These two riders have officially earned their Yellow Level in both Horsemanship and HorseSense! 💛🐴

Achieving Yellow Level means they've continued building strong riding skills, horse knowledge, and confidence through lots of hard work and dedication. We couldn't be more proud of everything they've accomplished!

The journey doesn't stop here... Green Level, here they come! 💚

Looks like the horses heard Warrick County Schools went back today... and they decided they should be ready too! 📚🐴🍎

We hope all of our Blue Heron Farm students, families, teachers, bus drivers, and school staff had a fantastic first day back! Here's to new friendships, lots of learning, and an incredible school year ahead.

Don't worry... after a long day at school, the barn is still the perfect place to leave homework behind for a little while and enjoy some horse time. 💙

🍂 Last Week to Register for Fall Riding Lessons! 🍂

The countdown is on! This is the last week to reserve your spot in our Fall Semester group riding lessons before classes begin.

Whether your child is just starting their horse journey or is ready to continue building their riding and horsemanship skills, we'd love to welcome them to the barn. Our students don't just learn to ride—they gain confidence, responsibility, and a true understanding of horse care and safety.

🔴 Red Level (Beginner) • Tuesday 4:45–5:45 PM – 1 spot left • Tuesday 5:45–6:45 PM – FULL • Wednesday 5:45–6:45 PM – 1 spot left

🟡 Yellow Level (Intermediate) • Monday 4:45–5:45 PM – 1 spot left • Monday 5:45–6:45 PM – 1 spot left

We need just a few more RSVPs to hold our End of Summer Student Scavenger Hunt!

This event is just for our currently registered semester riding lesson students, and each rider is welcome to bring one friend.

🗓 Saturday, July 25
🕞 3:30–5:00 PM

We'll spend the afternoon tackling our Diabolical Scavenger Hunt around the farm, then celebrate another great summer with popsicles!

If you haven't RSVP'd yet, we'd love to have you there! Please reply to your email invitation or send us a message so we can finalize plans. We just need a few more students to make this event happen!

Our horses are enjoying a well-deserved vacation after an amazing five weeks of camps. They've definitely earned a little time to relax and recharge! 💚

You'll find the Blue Heron Farm crew spending the week at the Warrick County 4-H Fair. Be sure to stop by the Rabbit Barn to say hello and cheer on Jaxon. While you're there, don't forget to visit your favorite Blue Heron Farm bunnies! 🐰🏅

🌟 Summer Camp MVP! 🌟

A huge shoutout to Jaxon for helping with all 5 weeks of our Summer Camps this year!

From catching goats and leading horses to setting up activities, helping younger campers, cleaning stalls, hauling supplies, and jumping in wherever he was needed, he was always willing to lend a hand. Camp days are long, hot, and busy, and he showed up every single week with a great attitude.

We're so proud of the young man he's becoming and the responsibility, patience, and leadership he's shown. Our camps simply wouldn't have run as smoothly without him.

Thank you, Jaxon, for being such an important part of Blue Heron Farm this summer. We love having you on our team! ❤️🐐🐴
