Dance Extraordinaire

Summer registration opens for Dance Extraordinaire classes with City of Mesa on Monday April 6th at 8am. Fairytale Dance, Hip Hop Tumbling and Ballet Basics are back at Eagles and Red Mountain Multigenerational Center on Wednesdays. The classes will focus on learning dance in a fun, energetic and encouraging environment. Classes begin May 6th. Link to register is in comments. Happy Dancing!

We celebrated at Pyle Rita’s 105 birthday 🎉 She has been a part of Pyle tap classes and programs at Pyle for over 18 years. It was fun to see everyone come together through the years to celebrate her. These are the stories and people that make teaching the classes fun, interesting and special.

The performance tap class at Pyle, The Timeless Tappers performed for the Ballroom class on their last night. We started the Winter festivities with a performance, food, and the Ballroom class had a party with Tango, Swing and Cha Cha, the dances they learned this session. It was a fun evening. Drop ins are available at Pyle Adult Recreation Center for Zumba Gold on Tuesday 11:10am and Fridays 10:40am and Zumba Toning Monday/Wednesday/Friday at 8:15am. Also Ballroom group class for 50plus on Mondays at 6pm. Happy Dancing!

The Timeless Tappers performed today at Inspirations of Tempe, senior living and assisted living. The audience had great energy and we enjoyed performing “Puttin on the Ritz”’ “Splish Splash”’ “Surfin USA”, “You’re A Grand Old Flag”, “L O V E “, and Jailhouse Rock” Have a safe and Happy 4th of July. We had fun in the Spring session of Ballroom Dance class at Pyle Adult Recreation with learning West Coast Swing, Tango and Merengue. We worked on leading/following and having fun with the dance styles. The next session will be the Summer session on Monday evenings at 6pm starting June 2nd with new dances. Dancing is fun and healthy, it is great exercise for the mind and body.

Saturday, April 26th the dance classes at Dobson Ranch and the Saturday morning dance classes at Red Mountain Multigenerational Center performed at Dobson Ranch Spring Expo at Los Altos Recreation Center on the basketball court. For some of the dancers it was their first performance and everyone did great. After the performance, Dobson Ranch had a lady bug presentation and release. The kids loved learning about spring and loved the ladybugs!

April 12th, the Timeless Tappers from Pyle performed at Contempo Tempe for their 50’s and 60’s theme. The tappers performed “Splish Splash”, “Surfin USA”, _”Daydream Beilever”, “Hit the Road Jack”, “L O V E”, and Jailhouse Rock. It was a fun audience who joined us at the end with the dance “Twist”

Summer classes for Dance Extraordinaire classes through City of Mesa opens registration for Mesa residents April 7th at 8am. Dance Extraordinaire will offer the same classes with days and times and location between RMC and Eagles. All classes are taught in an encouraging environment with learning the discipline of dance and keeping it fun.

The Beginning Ballet class at Granite Reef performed on the last day of the session for family and friends on March 25th. They all did a great job and danced to “It’s Oh So Quiet” It was a combination of Ballet and Jazz for this song and choreography was by the instructor Jana Moore.
