Guitar Lessons for Kids - The Childbloom Difference!

The Childbloom Guitar program began in Round Rock, Tx. in May of 1980. It began with 7 students being taught out of a local music store. In 2005, Kevin Carlson started a Childbloom Guitar School in St Cloud, MN. After travelling to Austin, TX for training with the owner himself, Kevin opened his school. Starting with just a handful of students, the school has grown to 60 students a week. Every year, the students have the opportunity to participate in two annual recitals, participate in MMTA events and exams, and as they grow in ability, are given additional performing opportunities in the community through advanced ensembles. Great River Guitars and St Cloud Bella Corda have performed at dozens of events - Roots Festival, Great River Regional Library and many more! There have also been two all-studio guitar choir performances this year - one at the Stearns County Service Center in downtown St Cloud, and one at the Regency across from the Paramount Theater. This year in 2019, Kevin has two studio groups performing at the Mid-America Guitar Festival at the University of MN.

Although the Childbloom Guitar Program is training many students to excel in performance and competitions, Kevin Carlson agrees with the Founder, Kevin Taylor, who says, “Although we are proud of our award-winning students, our purpose is not to produce awards. Our students do that through their own work. I am as proud of my students who play at church, for their grandparents, friends, or for their own enjoyment, as I am of the kids who play on the concert stage. I am honored and gratified that the Childbloom Guitar Program has been able to bring music into the lives of young people.”

The Childbloom Guitar Program, now in its 14th year in St. Cloud, MN, continues to grow nationally and the Childbloom students continue to make their teachers look good.
