This week, AZPE had the honor of surprising Mr. Ernest Rose of Wilson School District No. 7 as our **2026 Administrator of the Year**—and what a moment it was! With a cafeteria packed full of elementary students and teachers, more than 400 students shouted “SURPRISE!” as he walked in, making it the largest show of support in our Awards Program history.

Mr. Rose’s leadership has transformed his district into a true community hub where students and families are supported both inside and outside the classroom. From creating a Community Center with access to healthcare, dental services, and parent ELA classes, to ensuring every student feels valued through initiatives like a district-wide shoe drive and holiday adoption program, his impact is both powerful and personal. His partnership with PBS to provide summer learning opportunities further reflects his commitment to student success year-round.

Mr. Rose leads with compassion, innovation, and purpose—and we are proud to recognize the lasting difference he is making in his community. Congratulations! 👏
