Interesting. Let’s be intentional about planting our landscapes with host & food plants to assist our pollinators in living out their life cycles. Our native milkweed cultivars are perfect to survive here in the low desert. The citrus trees are host plants for the Great Western Swallowtail butterfly. Many of the herbs we grow so prolifically in the desert are food/host plants too. Don’t hesitate to let your herbs mature as the growing season progresses! Need more info? Comment below.
