Last Sunday, our Ministry Team gave us a sneak peek of the ministry they are doing this summer. Their theme this year is a meditation on one of the most powerful tools believers have: prayer. Please join the team in prayer, asking God to bless their preparation and future service.

Praying for our friends at a sister school in the home-going of Dr. Marty Marriott. We appreciated his faithfulness to the Lord and friendship to our institution. We look forward to seeing him again.
“We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:3
Maranatha Baptist University is saddened to announce the passing of Dr. Marty Marriott, who served as the university’s fifth president from 2010 to 2023 and as chancellor from 2023 to 2026.
A faithful servant and visionary leader, Dr. Marriott guided Maranatha through years of growth while remaining deeply committed to the University’s mission to do all “To the Praise of His Glory.” His leadership initiatives expanded global access to Christian education and strengthened the university’s spiritual foundation.
Prior to his presidency, Dr. Marriott pastored churches in Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and Michigan for over three decades. He and his wife, Miriam, shared a lifelong ministry partnership marked by warmth, hospitality, and a passion for training the next generation of Christians. “Dr. Marriott’s walk with the Lord, his love for his family, his care for MBU students, and his commitment to God’s Word have been exemplary,” said Dr. Matthew Davis, MBU CEO.
Dr. Marriott is survived by his wife, Miriam, their three children—Rebecca (Bryan) Brock, Rachel (Joshua) Roberts, and David (Emiley) Marriott—and their twelve grandchildren. Memorial service details will be shared soon.

Sandra Gail Fullmer
February 11, 1945 - April 16, 2026
International Baptist College and Seminary honors the life and announces the homegoing of long-time faculty member, Miss Sandra Gail Fullmer. A member of the founding faculty of IBCS, Miss Fullmer served from August 1981 until May 2023, dedicating 42 years of service to IBCS and to Tri-City Baptist Church Ministries.
We rejoice in God’s gift of eternal life as we remember her faithful testimony. Sandra gave her life to Christ as a very young child and surrendered to full-time ministry as a young teenager. Throughout her life, she was devoted to teaching children, young people, and adults that serving God is the most important part of life.

Heading out to the Grand Canyon! We are eager to hear from our students and guests that are hiking the canyon this year. God put together an amazing group that is ready to not only enjoy good fellowship, but to admire God’s greatness and to hear the Canyon’s lessons. Please pray for safety on the road and the trails.

Our alumni are the true legacy of IBCS. This year’s Annual Banquet was a great opportunity to honor those who are part of the legacy of our school. Their testimonies of faithfulness to Christ and His church have greatly impacted their ministries and communities, demonstrating that a Bible-centered education produces servants dedicated to the Gospel.
