ETC Adobe Project

Next Friday 10/20 at 8:30 am will be a adobe repair work shop to re-mud the wall

A project with Patrick Williams learning community class will be taking place on 11/02 at 11:15 am.

The adobe project is ongoing. Yvonne is planning to have a group re-mud the wall this semester as part of regular maintenance. Also we're gonna build a shack, and house students at the ETC.

We're very thankful to Shane Kula, and all the students in Wendy Madison's "Sustainable World" class, for volunteering their time at Chandler Gilbert Community College Environmental Technology Center adobe brickmaking workshop. Great work was started today, and many new faces were seen in the ETC.

Please feel free to bring your classes or encourage students to come; they can register at link below. Please feel free to announce on Canvas, too. Shane is one of our former Ecological Literacy Certificate students now doing amazing work at ASU Main who worked on CGCC Adobe and built the wall along with other former students. It will be a fabulous workshop, and it would be great to pass that knowledge and skills to a new group of students. All disciplines can tie into this. Extra credit always an option if your class offers it.

I will not be able to work on the Adobe project, this Friday because I will be presenting a project with Kendra Stanger in Flagstaff....But please come out to the ETC and play in the mud...

There will be a group working on the Adobe Project on Friday April 5, 2013 at 8:30AM. We will be laying Brick and mudding walls.

There will also be a water harvest project, creation of new gardens and green house being built...

Please stop by and volunteer so we can make the gardens a beautiful place to enjoy the Spring!

Shane Kula will be making a Guest Appearance at the Adobe Project on Friday March 8, 2013 at 8:30AM. Shane, the founder of the Project, will be bringing back his knowledge, skills and bad music. Get ready to get dirty...

Alright guys I have to take a chemistry test at 9am friday morning. Can I get some feedback on whether you all would prefer to meet at around 10 or 10:30? Or would you rather meet later in the day around 4 maybe?

So I will not be able to make it this friday to work on Adobe. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU CAN WORK WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, SUNDAY MORNING, OR NEXT MONDAY MORNING.

If you are a part of an honors project, or in Milos' class you can sift dirt and record your time on the sign in sheet that is attached to the door to the shed on the inside. Other people should be working in the garden so it should be open...

*If you attempt to make bricks for Milos' class or for an honors project YOU MUST REPLACE CLAY AND DIRT. If you do not want to do this, than do not make bricks without me being there.*
