Happy Educator Appreciation Week!!
We are so proud of our members and the dedicated educators across Chandler! Be sure to thank them this week (and always)!
The best way to show your appreciation for educators and public education is to vote for legislators who prioritize keeping taxpayer dollars in public education classrooms!!
Teacher Appreciation Week begins tomorrow! Let’s show our dedicated teachers how much we appreciate them by transforming appreciation into ACTION. That means respect, fair wages, and a voice at the table when decisions about our schools and students’ futures are made.
Here are some ways to turn your APPRECIATION into ACTION:
💙 Support collective bargaining rights in your state. Educators earn more—24% more, on average—where they have strong unions and the freedom to bargain collectively.
💙 Vote for pro-public education candidates for your school board, state house, and U.S. Congress.
💙 Speak up for teachers at school board meetings. Ensure their voices and needs are heard by local leaders who decide funding, salaries, benefits, class sizes, and more.

We just wanted to say "thank you" to our bus drivers! Not only do they transport students to school, homes, extracurriculars, and field trips, but they may be the first and last person our students see from school. That makes a massive impact on their day!

-Working families first
-Government by the people, not just the wealthy
-Free and fair elections
Demanding ICE and other agencies stop harassing and kidnapping our neighbors
-No ICE
-No private army serving authoritarian power
-Immigrants are Welcome Here
Patronizing unions shops and local and independently owned businesses instead of large corporations that fund the current administration
-If you [work 8-hr days, work 40-hour weeks, have safe working conditions, receive benefits] Thank a Union
-STOP the Billionaire boondoggle
-Expand democracy, not corporate rule
-Protect people, not corporate power

Way to go, GilbertEA!!!!
Congratulations to union educators in Gilbert on a big win! After years of organizing, Gilbert Ea members secured major salary increases — $6,000 for self-contained teachers in hard-to-fill roles and $3,000 for other hard-to-fill positions.
This victory is the result of persistent advocacy, detailed research, and a commitment to fairness for the educators who dedicate countless hours to writing and managing IEPs for students with special needs.
GEA’s success is a roadmap for what’s possible when educators stand together. ✊
