We want to thank Julie and Anika for sharing their journey and experience as JTED participants. As students of SSA they have been able to take advantage of our partnership and explore career paths. Anika has recently earned 1st place at Arizona Science & Engineering Fair. Go Eagle Nation! π¦

We are proud to celebrate 5th grader Rehan Mohammed, who earned 1st place at the Phoenix Suns STEM Fest during the Honeywell Aerospace STEM Pitch Competition at the Footprint Center!
His project, βOperation Green Court: The Carbon Impact of Renewable Basketball Gear,β showed how sustainable sports materials can reduce COβ emissions by up to 70%βan impressive blend of science, innovation, and real-world impact. π±π

SCIENCE OLYMPIAD STATE CHAMPIONS!
On Saturday, April 1, at ASU, our Science Olympiad team competed against teams from across the state in the 2023 Arizona Science Olympiad...and came home as winners! As Arizona champions, the team will represent the state at the National Science Olympiad, in Wichita, Kansas, in May. We are so proud of our student competitors: 8th graders Ashely Heap, Hannah Sarrar, Zunaina Nanzeeba, Dilip Nagarajan, Aws Jamal, Ismail Badja, and Jonas Brison; our 7th graders Zuleyha Owezova and Ayesha Amirah; and our 6th graders Anvaruddin Sultan, Omar Ahsan, and Ken Sato. We are equally proud of our student coaches Fiza Mahmud, Yasser Jamal, Riona Nanzeeba, Silmi Hasan, Arya Reiland, Iris Sihashath, and Zaid Jamal and team coach, teacher Ms. Ayse Kolo. AZCharters

Sonoran Schools was proud to have three of our schools participate in the 9th Annual Charters at the Capitol event on Monday, March 23. Joining almost 1,000 other charter school advocates, students and staff heard from state legislators and got to engage with legislators and charter school community members. Thank you Arizona Charter Schools Association for a great day at the Capitol!

The weather cooperated as staff from our Tucson schools, our Phoenix area schools, our online school, and our central office gathered in Casa Grande for the first ever Sonoran Schools Company Picnic. A great time was had by all!
