It's Future Friday!

Congratulations to JT Church, a Chandler Online Academy junior who returned to Arizona after performing on Broadway with Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster in "The Music Man."

Attending COA helps JT be future-ready for any projects that may come his way. #WeAreChandlerUnified

She will attend The University of Arizona this fall with an interest in studying psychology. Her goal is to become a forensic psychologist working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation to help keep our national security safe. Her motivation and investigative skills will be a benefit in her pursuit. Aniya enjoys reading, working, and the hanging out with her family and friends. #COAClassof2022 #WeAreChandlerUnified #CUSDSeniors22 #Classof2022 #classof22
Senior Spotlight: Chandler Online Academy's Carter Schmitz came to COA at the beginning of his senior year after moving to Germany to play soccer. Doing his courses online allowed him to train at a professional level and have the flexibility to do his work. Although dealing with a time difference, Carter always worked with his teachers to thoroughly learn the material. During his two years in Europe, he took a total of nine AP/IB courses and maintained straight A's. Playing professional soccer is a lifelong goal of Carter’s and he hopes to play in Germany, return to the United States, and attend college to study Engineering or Sports Medicine while playing soccer. #COAClassof2022 #WeAreChandlerUnified #CUSDSeniors22 #Classof2022 #classof22
Senior Spotlight: Chandler Online Academy's Hana Roushdy is an amazing student who worked hard to graduate a year early! After attending her freshman year of high school in Egypt, Hana arrived at COA with big goals. She completed classes with an extremely high level of effort & quality. Senior Spotlight: Chandler Online Academy's Ellie Marie Pascavis came to COA in 10th grade. The consistency in her work habits and strong desire to do well no matter what the assignment has impressed us with Ellie Marie here at Chandler Online Academy. She has reached out for help if needed and worked tirelessly with to further her knowledge, so she was not only able to produce a good final exam score, but she really learned the material in the courses. She is a smart and strong-willed young lady who will definitely push herself to where she wants to be. She will be attending Arizona State University in the fall where she hopes to pursue a degree in Nursing or Law School while also earning a minor in business. #COAClassof2022 #WeAreChandlerUnified #CUSDSeniors22 #Classof2022 #classof22

Student Spotlight: Kallie Johnson

Kallie is a senior at Chandler Online Academy and this is her second year taking classes with COA. Kallie chose to complete her high school education with COA so that she can work and continue to dance 20+ hours a week. Kallie loves the flexibility of COA and how she can do school work at 10 pm or 1 am if she wants to.

"I dance with Arizona Youth Ballet, as well as two other ballet studios so COA allows me to have opportunities such as performing in The Nutcracker as many different characters including the famous Rat King."

Kallie is working hard to be a professional dancer but if that doesn't work out, she wants to be a 5th-grade teacher.

We are so proud of our Hornets and all of their accomplishments!

Happy National Online Learning Day! Whether you take online courses, use online educational resources in the classroom or teach online classes, this day is for you!

Students in American History are studying the rise of political machines in American during the Industrial Revolution and assessing the effectiveness of different social groups during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Kate Remer, a full-time COA student created this poster to accompany her assignment to advertise for her own interest group addressing the social need for child labor laws. In addition to this poster, Kate summarized the issue and drew up a list of demands and discussed which are the most important and which are open for compromise as well as a plan for organization, meetings, and rallies to draw a wide audience.

Well done, Kate!

Jack chose to enroll in COA so that he could continue his education with Chandler Public Schools while in Germany.

"I enjoy the freedom I get when I do school because I am very busy. I can get ahead in my classes so if I do not have time to do one, I can take a day off."

Study Tip Tuesday!

Through COA, students have the opportunity to serve their community by joining the Hornet Helpers Club, Student Government and/or National Honors Society. Students in the 8th Grade Social Studies and Government classes complete a Service Learning Project as part of their course work. We're excited to share some of these projects our students are working on and hope everyone takes advantage of any opportunity they are presented with to serve their community.

We hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend! Don't forget to check to be sure your attendance is logged in for the week!
