As a new school year begins, we say a heartfelt goodbye to our 25 PreK children as they take their next big step into kindergarten! Most of these sweet kiddos have been with us since infancy. Being a part of their growth and lives over the last five years has been an absolute blessing.

With this exciting transition, many of our current children are stepping up into new classrooms, ready for new adventures and milestones.

🌈🔬 Exploring, Experimenting & Engineering in PreK! 🧪✨

Our PreK kiddos have been busy putting their curiosity and creativity to work! From exploring how light can refract and combine creating new colors 🎨🌈 to investigating how colors can travel from one container to another, our young scientists have been making observations, asking questions, and testing their ideas.

Then it was time to put on our engineer hats! 👷‍♀️👷‍♂️ The PreK children worked together to design and build bridges using popsicle sticks, experimenting with balance, structure, and stability. 🏗️🌉

We love watching our PreK learners turn everyday materials into exciting STEM discoveries! Their creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, and “I wonder…” moments are all part of the learning journey. 💙

Dogs can teach children so much. From kindness and empathy to patience and respect for others.


In honor of National Dog Day, we’re sharing a few simple tips to help children stay safe and build positive relationships with dogs, cats, and other animals. 🐾❤️

1. Always ask the owner before petting a dog.

2. Let a dog sniff you or your child before petting.

3. When giving treats, use a flat palm with the fingers held together.

4. Always supervise kids under the age of 5 around pets.


Small moments of guidance can help children grow confidence while helping pets feel safe and comfortable, too.

Today we celebrate Ms. Jenise and her six years of dedication at Marketplace! 💕 Over the years, Ms. Jenise has made a lasting impact on so many children and families. From teaching phonics and leading our cooking classes to caring for our littlest learners as an infant teacher, she has shared her passion, creativity, and love of learning with our center community.

We are so grateful for all the memories, learning, laughter, and love she has given to our Marketplace family over the past six years. ❤️
While we are sad to see her go, we are also incredibly excited for her next chapter as she begins working with elementary-aged students! We know she will continue to make a difference in the lives of children wherever her journey takes her.

Our Inver Grove Heights KinderCare team recently joined Telemundo Minnesota and Inver Grove Toyota for their annual Backpack Giveaway, where more than 250 backpacks filled with school supplies were given to local children.

For Ms. Caity, Ms. Ana, and Ms. Heidi, it was a chance to connect with families, share smiles, and remind parents that they have a community cheering their children on.

Community Time in Infants 🧺👶✨

Today, the children explored new items that were added to our discovery basket that were enriched with items from their All About Me unit! They had the opportunity to investigate different types of baby clothing, self-care items, and eating utensils. The discovery basket allows children to explore at their own pace with little, if any, adult guidance. With each unit the basket is filled with items that represent a variety of shapes, textures, weights, smells, and sounds.

As they explored, the children used their senses to touch, feel, observation, and identified the different objects. This activity encouraged curiosity, social development, language development, fine motor skills, and imaginative play as they learned about items used to care for themselves. 💕
